CoronaVirus Home Teaching Online Available

Like everyone else, this virus has shaken us completely. The Principal, Professor Michael Grantham, our main Tutor, is in one of the high risk groups and has decided to follow government policy and restrict social contact. This has meant ceasing all 1:1 lessons in the home, much to our regret. We are hoping to restore 1:1 lessons as soon as the Government permit.

However, we are instead offering 1:1 lessons over the internet using “Zoom” a videoconferencing system which is powerful and free to use. We have already done our first lessons that way and, while different, it works perfectly well – with the ability to share screens to view PowerPoint lessons in the three Sciences, Chemistry, Physics and Biology, with audio commentary and questioning. A Whiteboard can also be shared so particular points can be gone over and the whiteboards can be sent to the student after the lesson.

Maths tuition works much the same way, for both 11+ (Kent Test) coaching with videos that can be shared, PowerPoints and a whiteboard. Question papers can be circulated ahead of the lesson and questions gone through in the same way. This also applies to English, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning.

We are offering reduced rates for teaching now too, given they are not in the home.

Zoom can be downloaded free of charge and used free of charge from https://zoom.us/signup or can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store if using on a tablet. Phones are not recommended, owing to the small screen size.

Please don’t hesitate to drop us a message or call for more information or if a demo is required.
